five blogposts in one

So, i decided to save some time and make one HUGE blogpost instead of several (5) mini blogposts. i'm awesome like that.

number 1.  too cute not to photograph.
She was working it.

 Number 2.  blonde again.
i had to go to maine to get it done.
California has let me down.  big time.
yes, that is my shower curtain in the background.
yes, i am sitting on the tub.  not in. on.

Number 3. like mother like daughter.
This is Dahlia wearing the brett t-shirt.
photos of brett wearing the brett t-shirt coming soon to a blog near you (aka, this one).

Number 4.  Sisters.
we affectionately refer to each other as 'cc'.
if you shorten sister to sissy, and then say it like it has two ee's instead of an i (seesy),
then you get it!
we are wearing stripes.
those are both my shirts.  until i gave that one to brooke.
now she is wearing her shirt and i am wearing mine.

Number 5.  LA zoo fun.  i am pretty sure that hippo (in the left picture)
was Dahlia's favorite part of the trip.  mine was the hot dog AND hamburger AND french fries. tyson helped me.

soapbox

children are our future.  anyone who thinks otherwise, is afraid of them, or has chosen to not have anything to do with them, is kidding themselves.
love
our
kids!

it's official...

Pinterest and Etsy have taken over blogging.
And I'm ok with that!
This is also quickly turning into a baby blog.  That i'm not sure i'm so okay with!  haha.

And number 46

Bam.
Take that, LA.

Blog entry # 45

This is the first time Dahlia has had a bath in the 'big girl bathtub.'  We wanted to make it fun for her - like she was swimming.  So Ty got in there with her.  dahlia did not really know what to think of it.  At first she wouldn't even bend her little legs to sit down.

We went to the Los Angeles Temple.  It was so pretty, even though it was raining, and cold, and night time.  PS, the visitor's center there is a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

I think I'm gonna chop this hair of mine.
And bleach the you-know-what out of it.

And here's Dallie being colorful and cute.  As always =)

a baby, a broken rule, and a quick before and after

Bumbo time with Daddy!

I don't even know why this is a 'rule' of mine... but I usually steer clear of these super flared jeans with vans.  So, I got all crazy one night, and just went for it.  I know, right?!  Living so close to the edge!
This one's for you, elaine!
And then i was having so much fun with the tripod, that Dallie wanted in.  It took about 5 tries to get a photo of both of us.

m.i.a.

Tyson wrote this description of what has been happening to our little Dahlia for our family blog.  Here is why we have been missing in action.

This poor girl has had a tough time since her hemangioma (big, puffy birthmark) ulcerated almost two months ago. This happens to a very small percentage of babies. We've learned around 10% of babies get hemangioma s (which are benign; they run their course and go away over time) but an even smaller percentage of those babies have them ulcerate, which is, according to our pediatrician/dermatologist, one of the most painful things that can happen to a baby. It's up there with third degree burns... hence the "poor girl." After a lot of dr. visits and failed attempts at remedying her heartbreakingly painful condition we finally found an ointment used for diabetics with foot ulcers that seems to be doing the trick.

Night Owls

Dahlia has not been sleeping well.

She goes through spurts, when she does awesome at night, sleeping for about 4-5 hours at a time, waking up once to eat, then sleeping the rest of the night.  lately, the only way she will sleep is if she falls asleep nursing, and then i keep on holding her.  the second i go to put her down she's wide eyed and awake, and ready to either play or scream her little heart out (sometimes she can't decide, so she switches back and forth between smiles and cries... its actually pretty funny.  or, it would be, if i wasn't a complete zombie at that point).
total hours of sleep:  4.
two nights in a row.

so now, this is how we are spending our day.

(hey, ty, can i borrow your shirt??? thanks!)

but hey, i did my hair and even put on some makeup today.  woot!  am i going anywhere?  no.  but it is date night.
i love date night.
even when we don't go anywhere.
it's still date night =)

they also got me that icarly nighty i'm working in the last post.

i love how excited tyson got about his tickets!

p.s!  the babe weighs 12 pounds now.
12 POUNDS!!!  that's almost double her birth weight!

Have You Heard?

that one day i am going to be a rich, famous children's book author?  no?  you haven't???  well, i plan on using this little ditty to get me there.  it's a gem, no?  PS - it looks long and intimidating, but i promise it's not!  it will take you about 3 minutes to read it!  3 minutes of pure awesomeness.  in cheesy rhyming form =)

and now for a picture that has absolutely nothing to do with anything...
ta da!

the weird pregnancy symptoms post!

you know, the ones you always hear about, but never really know how strange they are until they hit you... (so i wrote these fairly in order of how they hit me from first trimester to third).  here we go!

1. burping. not just any burping - i mean 300 lb man burps!

2. the need to pee - like, NOW. then you get there, and it turns out it wasn't quite the crisis situation you thought it was.  but it was a situation nonetheless.

3. the dizzies - the earth is rotating and i might fall out of my bed.

4. aversion to smells - my shampoo made me nauseous.

5. constipation - i deserve a treat for poo-ing! um, yeah...it's kind of a big deal!

6. forgetfullness - i think i threw away my keys, and i cant find my yogurt!

7. constant eating - i need food ASAP or you will be sorry!  and so will i.

8. klutziness - everything i touch ends up on the floor, and i bump in to everything in sight (walls, doorways, little kiddos... you name it!) this may largely be due to the fact that i constantly underestimate the amount of space this huge belly will actually need.

9. leg cramps - i woke up with a mad charlie horse in the middle of the night!

10. tastiness. some things are just so dang tasty! i live to eat pears and brush my teeth!

11. baby moves! and she kicks, and she punches, and she jabs, and she cartwheels, and she somersaults...

12. carpal tunnel? yeah pretty sure my right hand is consta-asleep.

13.  puffy!  my feet are just plain puffy.  oh, and can we say kankles?  (is that how you spell that?!)

this post i wrote as a sidebar thingy.  but i decided it was time to move the preggo stuff out of the way since, you know, BabyDallie is here!
